Role Definition

Purpose :

The position was mainly established for the purpose of supporting the Implementation Team. As an Analysis Engineer you will be asked to perform a wide range of analysis regarding submarine cables: Laying analysis (e.g. SLB), pull-in analysis for onshore and offshore platforms (initial and final) of IAC and export cables, on-bottom stability analysis, cable lifting analysis from burial machines, cable stabilization analysis as well as sensitivity studies. You will be part of a greater team working closely with the Implementation Team Manager and the existing team to bring on-time deliverables in high demanding projects and fast-paced environment.

Responsability :

Project Preparation

  • Contribute to elaboration of Design brief and design basis documents for installation/in-place analysis;
  • Use of existing tools and elaboration of new excel spreadsheets / Mathcad spreadsheet;
  • Perform the in-place design analysis with Orcaflex, as per design brief and basis;
  • Perform QA/QC of other analysis;
  • Interface with installation engineer and field engineers to Understand operation procedure & identify critical steps;
  • Elaborate lay tables to be used offshore, identify laying parameters and sea states limitations
  • Elaborate design loads on platforms main points;
  • Interface with package to contribute to scope of work of various items;
  • Ensure design in accordance with:

                o Acknowledged industry Codes; o Standards and Design Guides (e.g. API, DNV,ISO)                

                o Client Specifications and Scopes of Work;

  • Attendance at teleconferences/face to face meetings;
  • Report to Implementation Manager outcome of meetings and technical discussions; Project Execution:
  • Review, prepare planning for project preparation and execution;
  • Provide engineering assistance during mobilizations and occasional periods of offshore or site working; Admin
  • Ensure that all project documentation is properly filled in company’s internal documentation management system

QHSE

  • Adhering to all compliance and auditing requirements for the conduct of ethical and transparent operations including the compliance to all client policies, guidelines and procedures;
  • Complying with Health, Safety and Environmental policies and procedures and compliance with all audits and inspections;

Qualification

Position Requirements

Education & Training

(The extent or level of knowledge or training obtained by formal education or outside study that is necessary to achieve normal job performance and proficiency. Such knowledge is to be considered the minimum education required for performing the position responsibilities.)

  • A higher university degree in Engineering/Hydrodynamics;
  • Clear and effective oral and written communication skills in English language;
  • Proficient Knowledge in FEA modelling and Orcaflex is a prerequisite;
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office, Project Scheduling and CAD software required;
  • Additional working knowledge of other foreign languages, (e.g. Italian, German, French etc.) are not prerequisite but are to be considered as extra skills;
  • Knowledge of Python programming
  • Strong Knowledge of industry Codes, Standards and Design Guides (e.g. API, DNV, ISO)

Experience

(The minimum experience required to perform the job. This experience can be gained in previous employment in a similar job and/or on the job with the current employer. Experience in this factor is measured in time periods e.g. 3-6 months, 3-5 years, 10-15 years etc.)

  • 4+ years related engineering experience in the oil and gas industry or equivalent onto installation analysis;
  • Other working experience in similar positions is under consideration as well;

Conditions

Work Schedule

  • The Analysis Engineer has a schedule that flexes around the need but typically is based on a Monday-Friday 09:00 to 17:00 availability;
  • It is common for the Analysis Engineer to work in a flexible basis to meet with needs/ deadlines;
  • Participation on offshore projects is required;
  • Start as soon as possible
