Role summary

Our client, a leading construction company, is seeking a QHSE Coordinator to join their team for a major microtunneling project in Northern Angola. The project, commissioned by a prominent oil & gas group, involves a 1 km microtunnel starting from a cliff and extending into the ocean.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Implement and enforce quality, health, safety, and environmental (QHSE) policies on-site.

  • Conduct risk assessments and ensure compliance with local and international QHSE standards.

  • Provide safety and quality training and awareness sessions for site personnel.

  • Monitor daily operations to identify potential hazards and quality issues, taking corrective actions.

  • Report and investigate incidents and non-conformities, ensuring corrective measures are in place.

  • Collaborate with project teams to ensure a safe, efficient, and high-quality work environment.

  • Assist in emergency response planning and drills.

  • Conduct quality inspections and audits to ensure adherence to project specifications and standards.

  • Ensure proper documentation and reporting of QHSE activities.

Sought Profile

  • Previous experience in a QHSE role within the construction or oil & gas industry.

  • Strong knowledge of QHSE regulations and best practices.

  • Ability to work in a challenging offshore environment.

  • Effective communication skills and ability to train personnel.

  • Fluent in English; Fluent Portuguese, French is a plus.
