Role Definition
ACTIVITY 1 : Engineering (On weekly basis)
- Participation in meetings between the Client and the Contractors.
- Review cable Contractor’s (IAC + EC) engineering document including but not limited to:
• Cable system design
• Type-testing
• Cable installation analysis
• Cable protection
• Cable pull-in
• Freespan fatigue analysis
• Cable Termination and Testing
- Supervision of the Contractors installation engineering activities (cable pull-in and Termination & Testing works) ensuring that they are carried out in a good workmanship in accordance with Project requirements, Project procedures, strict compliance to HSE regulations and QA/QC policy within the agreed schedule.
- Provision and update of Project offshore installation (cable pull- in and T&T works) inputs to planning team and in interface with the other Project Packages
- Participation in Risk Assessments, Hazids, meetings… as required in accordance with Projects’ referential.
- Overall follow-up of interface engineering packages managers, with other and interface participation in Interface meetings with Related Contractors.
ACTIVITY 2 : Type-test, Manufacturing and FAT (From 2023 to 2025)
- Follow-up cable type-testing progress and results Ensure results are in adequation with project requirements
- Follow-up HV submarine cables and cable accessories manufacturing
- Attend (or coordinate attendance) Factory acceptance testing related to HV submarine cables and HV cable accessories
ACTIVITY 3 : Installation
On a weekly basis :
- Follow up of Contractor’s early preparation activities;
- Review of Contractors monthly/(bi-)weekly/daily reports;
- Support to the Contract Manager in claim management; Implementation of lessons learned
- Follow-up of the early supply chain works
From 2023 to 2026
Endorsing a role of “Client representatives lead / coordinator”.
- Coordination of the different client representatives that will be deployed amongst the installation spread.
- During load-out
- On the CLV
- On the trencher support vessel (if different from CLV)
- On the OSS for pull-in and T&T works
- On the WTG for the pull-in and T&T works
- During cable testing and commissioning works
Participation to Meetings & Workshops
In order to ensure a continuous communication between the Client and the Service Provider, a series of meetings wil be organised by Client throughout the duration of the Contract.
Attendance and participation to these meetings will be key to ensure communication and alignment between the parties
Coordination Meetings
Most of the meeting will take Place at CDA’s yard in Saint Nazaire. Among the recurrent meetings organised by Client, the Service Provider may be requested to attend to monthly coordination meetings. These meetings will aim at:
- Measuring performance of the Contract execution,
- Reviewing upcoming needs for additional activities and termination of on-going activities as the case may be,
- Holding discussions on challenges, difficulties, lessons learnt.
From time to time, the coordination meetings could be face-to-face meetings held in the Client’s offices in Paris-La Defense. However, if jointly agreed, those meetings will generally be held through a conference call or teleconference call.
Adhoc Meetings & Workshops
In addition, various ad-hoc meetings or workshops will also take place. If Client judges ti relevant, the Service Provider will be requested to attend to these ad-hoc meetings.
