Project details
As a major player in the renewable energy sector, our company is committed to contributing to the energy transition by supporting projects developing innovative and sustainable solutions for the production of bio-methane and biogas. Our costumer is launching an ambitious project to standardize their production processes and are looking for a passionate and motivated Process Engineer to join their team.
Role Definition
Job Responsibilities:
As a Senior Civil Engineer, you will oversee the design, construction, and maintenance of civil structures associated with bio-methane and biogas production facilities. You will play a critical role in ensuring that all civil works, including foundations, buildings, tanks, and supporting infrastructure, meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and sustainability. You will collaborate closely with mechanical, process, and automation engineers to ensure seamless integration of civil designs into the overall project.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Leading the civil engineering design of bio-methane and biogas production facilities, including buildings, foundations, access roads, pipelines, and storage tanks.
- Ensuring that civil works are designed in compliance with relevant French and international standards, including Eurocodes and NF regulations.
- Deliver site data: conducting site assessments, soil studies, and geotechnical evaluations to determine appropriate foundation and structural designs.
- Managing civil engineering contractors, ensuring that construction activities meet technical specifications, safety standards, and project timelines.
- Preparing technical drawings and civil engineering specifications using AutoCAD Civil 3D or equivalent software.
- Reviewing and approving structural designs and calculations to ensure the stability and safety of all civil works.
- Conducting site inspections and overseeing the quality control of construction materials, including concrete, steel, and geosynthetics.
- Ensuring the proper integration of underground infrastructure, such as drainage systems, utilities, and pipelines, within production facilities.
- Collaborating with environmental teams to ensure civil designs minimize the project’s environmental impact and support sustainability objectives.
- Participating in project planning and budgeting, providing civil engineering input and cost estimates for infrastructure components.
- Overseeing risk assessments and ensuring that civil structures comply with regulatory requirements, particularly related to safety and environmental impacts.
- Ensuring the seismic and flood resistance of structures in line with regional requirements and project-specific constraints.
DELIVERABLES
The subcontractor’s services will notably include the preparation of the following documents:
- Site data
- Civil engineering and infrastructure plans (VRD), in coordination with the Civil Engineering draftsman
- Reinforced concrete (RC) sizing for the structures.
- Specifications detailing the work to be carried out.
Profile:
- A degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in civil engineering, with a focus on large-scale industrial or energy projects.
- Strong expertise in structural and civil design, with experience in the energy, gas, or renewable sectors being highly desirable.
- Proficiency in relevant design software and knowledge of French/European civil engineering standards.
- Excellent project management skills and the ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong communication and leadership abilities.
For Junior Profiles:
- A degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Initial experience (internships or entry-level roles) in civil engineering, ideally in the industrial or energy sectors.
- Familiarity with civil design and structural analysis software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, Revit, or similar tools.
- Basic understanding of civil engineering principles related to foundation design, soil mechanics, and construction materials.
- Knowledge of French and European civil engineering standards (Eurocodes), as well as a willingness to learn and grow in this area.
- Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and the ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Why Join Us?
- Be part of a major renewable energy project and contribute to the future of sustainable bio-methane and biogas production.
- Work with a dynamic and growing team, with opportunities for leadership and career development.
- Participate in cutting-edge projects that drive positive environmental impact and innovation.
