Engineering Coordinator – Dutch design Verification and Validation

Role Definition

The engineering SoW consists of detail design of no. 3 Electrical substations (huge dimensions, 2-3 floors) and no. 1 operation building. All the buildings are located inside an industrial area, Rotterdam port.

Civil and architectural design is developed by a third party, our client will be involved only in the design of details. MEP design (HVAC, fire detection, firefighting, plumbing, etc.) is fully in charge to client and has to be designed fully in compliance with Dutch codes and local regulations.

The Engineering coordinator has to cover the role of engineering focal point in Rotterdam and manage daily the engineering team located in Doha (Qatar).

It is a manadatory requirment the knowledge of the Dutch codes and local regulations especially for the MEP design and he/she is responsible to validate the design accordingly.

The Coordinator, deployed at the Client’s premises, who will be responsible for (i) coordination and monitoring of the building design activities, (ii) interface with Client Technical Site Department located in Rotterdam (NL), (iii) support for the multidisciplinary design according to local codes and standards, and (iv) design validation against local codes and standards.

The above mentioned activities shall include and not be limited to the following:

A. Report to Client Site Management concerning the design progress on a weekly basis;

B. To interface between Client Site team and Final Client design team in order to address promptly the issues concerning the design;

C. Participate in meetings with the Client/Final Client if required;

D. Perform construction site visits, surveys and walk down with Client/Final Client personnel if required;

E. To comply with Health, Safety and the Environmental requirements, in compliance with current legislation and as contained within the Health and Safety Management System;

F. Upon instruction by Client, liaise with the Client and/or the Contractor throughout all the period regarding technical queries, clarifications, alternatives, attendances.

All design activities shall be performed strictly in accordance and compliance with any and all the local regulations, codes and wherever applicable good engineering practice.
