Role Definition
Since 2015, our client has been developing biomethane production activity. Its business entity, created in 2023, is responsible for the development of renewable and low carbon gas production in Europe.
Our client determined to become a leading player in biomethane production in Europe with more than 10 TWh in 2035. The strategy is to increase the installed base, through the development of greenfield projects and M&A, to inject biomethane into the gas grid or to produce bio-LNG. Its entity already has biomethane production plants in operation in countries such as France, United Kingdom, The Netherlands, and Belgium, and projects are under development in other countries of Europe.
POSITION IN THE ORGANIZATION
The HSE Advisor reports functionally to the Projects HSE Manager of Renewable Gases
Europe and operationally to the Execution Project Manager of the assigned project(s).
TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Management System:

Develop Project/Site specific HSE documents and support its implementation.

Support the implementation of RGE HSE processes, procedures, and templates for project execution in compliance with RGE HSE MS and client General Rules.

Assist in deploying RGE HSE processes and procedures across project execution activities.

Contribute to the definition of HSE strategies and assumptions during the pre-construction phase.

Participate in the preparation of specific instructions for operations exposed to major risks.

Develop and ensure adherence to project/site-specific HSE documentation.
Stakeholder management, training, and support:

Act as a key resource in implementing our client’s One Safety Culture program at project sites.

Conduct HSE training for Site Managers, Execution Project Managers, and contractors.

Establish and maintain positive relationships with internal teams and contractor representatives.

Provide HSE-related support and guidance to contractors and internal teams.
Control:
-
Ensure that systems are in place to monitor HSE compliance and detect deviations (e.g., permit to work system, certificates, etc.).

Review HSE documentation from suppliers and contractors to ensure compliance with regulations and RGE HSE MS.

Investigate incidents, including lost-time accidents and HiPo events, and support the definition of corrective action plans.

Conduct internal and external inspection, ensuring timely resolution of non-conformances.
Reporting:

Implement follow-up registers and deploy KPI dashboards for HSE monitoring.

Comply with reporting requirements and deadlines, coordinating the efforts of others and consolidating data as applicable.

Capitalise on and disseminate project feedback on HSE
LOCATION
One of RGE units, with a number of days of teleworking as per local policy, and regular travels to other RGE units and project locations within Europe.

QUALIFICATION, COMPETENCE AND EXPERIENCE
Degree and experience:
-
Health and safety qualification recognized by a reputable enforcing authority (e.g. NEBOSH Level 3 etc.)

At least 2 years’ experience in a HSE role for industrial projects (bioenergy, energy, chemicals, water/waste treatment) in an EPC or contractor organization, preferably on an international scale.

Experience in construction site HSE implementation and compliance.
-
Strong technical knowledge of HSE regulations, risk assessment, and auditing.
-
Knowledge of environmental management systems is a plus.
LANGUES:
