Role Definition
Key Accountabilities
– Providing technical assurance of FPSO Contractors’ work with respect to the mechanical equipment of Topsides Modules and Marine equipment with due consideration of HFE, HSE, the FPSO contract, quality requirements, regulatory compliance, sound engineering practice, operational considerations schedule and commercial considerations.
– Monitoring and directing FPSO Contractors work within mechanical discipline
– Active cooperation with FPSO Contractor to influence resolution on any relevant issues to ensure Client interests are being met within the contract and escalate within Client organization if applicable.
– Manage, all mechanical equipment related technical interfaces, with Subsurface, Subsea, Marine and Riser systems and any other disciplines and groups.
– Prepare technical and progress reports to support flow of key information to management to assist in decision making
– To capture and distribute lessons learned.
– Implementing all applicable project management processes and tools including Management of Change, Lessons Learned and Decision Management
– Attend equipment Factory Acceptance Testing (FATs) and inspections as required ensuring that operation of the equipment is demonstrated as far as practically possible to minimize potential for issues during commissioning and operations.
– Provide support for commissioning activities including review of procedures and witnessing of activities as required.
– Carry out assurance of construction/integration activities including verification of correct installation of equipment, installation of adequate protection /preservation of equipment, ensure that any required repairs or modifications are carried out satisfactorily, ensure testing (including hydrotesting and load testing) is carried out safely in line with Country regulatory requirements, highlight any schedule issues which may arise.
Qualification
Skills / experience :
· At least 15 years working on offshore projects and operations in a Mechanical engineering capacity
· At least 10 years working in detailed design capacity for offshore Installations of which at least 3 years on FPSO-type systems
· At least 5 years working as lead or project engineer for Mechanical Engineering systems project execution Knowledge (e.g. systems, software, procedures, regulations):
· Knowledge of applicable legislative requirements, international codes and standards, industry practice and sound engineering practice.
