Role Definition
Our client is a leading company in the maritime and offshore industry, known for their commitment to excellence and safety. We are currently seeking experienced riggers for a critical project involving the berthing of an FPSO (Floating Production Storage and Offloading) unit at the MARS yard in Frederikshavn, Denmark.
Job Description
As a Rigger on this project, you will be integral to the safe and efficient berthing of the FPSO. Your role will involve various tasks such as disconnection and connection of tow and mooring lines, and assisting in the demobilization of equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Disconnection of Tow Lines: Work with the team to safely disconnect tow lines once the FPSO is in position.
- Connection of Harbor Tug Lines: Assist in securing harbor tug lines to ensure stable positioning of the FPSO.
- Connection of MARS Mooring Lines: Handle the connection of mooring lines onboard the FPSO to secure it at the berth.
- Demobilization of Equipment: Collaborate in the packing and storage of all deck equipment in designated containers.
- Operation of Equipment: Support the electrician/mechanic in starting up and operating the generator and hydraulic power unit (HPU).
- Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols and use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
Qualification
Required:
- Proven experience as a rigger, especially in maritime or offshore projects.
- Certification in Basic Offshore Safety Induction and Emergency Training (BOSIET).
- Certification in Helicopter Underwater Escape Training (HUET).
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and work in challenging environments.
- Strong understanding of rigging techniques and safety procedures.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
Preferred:
- Previous experience working on FPSO units or similar offshore platforms.
- Familiarity with the MARS yard or similar facilities.
- Ability to work flexible hours to accommodate the project schedule.
