Role Definition

We are looking for a person to fill the role of Site Project Manager for the SOL. The German corridor project are a series of massive underground high-voltage direct current (HVDC) cable projects, such as the SuedOstLink, designed to transport electricity from wind farms in the North Sea to southern Germany. Bayreuth is located along the route of these projects, which aim to support Germany’s transition to renewable energy. 

Main duties include:

  • Coordination of site superintendents of different project sections

  • Act as a point of contact for the customer and third parties to oversee the activities related to the power cable and optical system that are required prior to installation and during installation.

  • Act as an interface between the customer, contractors, and subcontractors for cable installation to plan activities, review the execution of construction work, and inspect infrastructure.

  • Develop/Improve handover and other key Site Management Processes together with relevant stakeholders.

  • Support on planning for critical resources/equipment for Site Management and verification of alignment with client plan.

  • Development and Maintenance of Site Management action plan with critical activities impacting site activities (handover, defects closure, NCs)

  • Leading the preparation of procedural instructions and other documentation required for the execution of on-site work in cooperation with relevant functions.

  • Managing contractual requirements.

  • Reporting to Project Director

  • Language requirements: German and English

 Position is requested to be 50% in Bayreuth SOL office and 50% on site.
