We are looking for a: Strategic Planner for New Construction Projects in Area North and South

Unit: The Large Projects Netherlands (LPN) department is responsible for large-scale new construction projects. Together with various stakeholders, including the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Policy, we carry out our tasks within the established time, budget, scope, and quality frameworks. Currently, there are four regions: North, Central, West, and South. Each region is responsible for the planning, tendering, and execution of the construction of our high-voltage substations and connections, as well as for the planning, tendering, and execution of our upgrade projects.

Position: As a Strategic Planner, you are responsible for developing and monitoring project schedules within complex projects. You will work closely with various disciplines and proactively gather information, asking critical questions, and actively contributing to planning workshops.

Your main responsibilities include:

• Responsible for the development and monitoring of project schedules, gathering necessary information from various project disciplines and asking critical questions. • Initiating and facilitating interactive planning workshops to create a shared project structure.

• Evaluating and testing detailed schedules from internal and external parties, identifying bottlenecks, and advising on necessary adjustments.

• Supporting project teams with overall planning and gaining insight into dependencies between various activities.

• Identifying deviations in the lead times of critical activities and reporting these to relevant stakeholders.

• Collaborating with risk managers and various stakeholders to identify planning risks, process them in the system, and monitor control measures.

Required:

• Minimum HBO (higher professional education) work and thinking level.

• At least 5 years of experience in planning complex infrastructure works within technically oriented organizations. This is a must.

• Demonstrable experience in the use of planning applications, including Primavera P6 – is highly desirable.

• Experience with upgrade projects for high-voltage connections is necessary. This involves work such as replacing conductors (lines), adjusting foundations, crossings with other lines (permanent or temporary cabling), and applying for necessary permits such as an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) or a Commercial Law Agreement (ZRO).

• Insight into aspects such as ElectroMagnetic Compatibility (EMC) and its consequences for the electromagnetic field.

• Experience with the dynamic and often ad-hoc nature of upgrade projects, where lead times are shorter (approx. 7 years) compared to new construction projects (approx. 14 years).

• Ability to switch effectively within a multidisciplinary project team and deal with the dynamics of short-term planning.

• Excellent command of Dutch is required. And a professional level of English.

• Presence Location NORTH: Tuesday MCE Arnhem, Thursday Rijnpoort Arnhem for project meeting | 2 x per month 1 day per week in MCE Arnhem or project office Hoogeveen for planner meetings | Rest of the days hybrid | this is an average and flexibility is expected.

• Presence Location SOUTH: 2 days per week at project location in the vicinity of Breda or in MCE/Rijnpoort in Arnhem | 2 x per month 1 day per week in MCE Arnhem or project office Gouda for planner meetings | Rest of the days from home
