Role Definition

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Structural Draftsman to develop detailed technical drawings and 3D models for buildings, bridges, ships, and other complex structures. Using CAD software such as AutoCAD, Inventor, Navisworks, and Ansys Modeller, the draftsman will collaborate closely with engineers and construction teams to ensure that all designs meet regulatory standards and project specifications. Previous experience in shipbuilding is strongly required.

Key Responsibilities

• Technical Drafting: Translate engineering and architectural concepts into accurate structural drawings.

• 3D Modeling: Develop detailed 3D models of structural components and systems using advanced CAD tools.

• Collaboration: Work with engineers, architects, and construction professionals to refine designs and ensure technical accuracy.

• Compliance: Guarantee that all drawings comply with applicable codes, regulations, and client specifications.

• Documentation: Prepare, update, and maintain technical documentation, including plans, drawings, and specifications.

• Revisions: Incorporate feedback from project managers and stakeholders, updating drawings and models accordingly.

• Material Calculations: Support engineers by calculating dimensions, weights, and stresses of structural materials.

• Site Visits: Conduct on-site inspections to collect data, verify measurements, and assess the feasibility of designs.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• CAD Expertise: Proficiency in AutoCAD, Inventor, Navisworks, and Ansys Modeller.

• Engineering Knowledge: Solid understanding of structural engineering principles, construction methods, and materials.

• Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and precision in drafting and modeling.

• Communication Skills: Strong ability to coordinate effectively with engineers, architects, and contractors.

• Problem-Solving: Analytical skills to resolve design challenges efficiently.

• Education: Associate’s degree or certification in drafting, engineering, or a related field.

• Experience: Proven experience in structural drafting with a strong background in shipbuilding.

• Languages: Fluency in English (written and spoken) is mandatory; Italian is considered an asset.
