Testing Engineer – HV Commissioning

Project Overview: We are looking for a skilled HV Test Engineer to support commissioning activities on high-voltage (HV) cable systems for ongoing onshore projects in the UK. The role involves performing and supervising commissioning tests on HV cable systems, up to 400 kV, using advanced Resonant Test Systems (RTS).

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct commissioning tests on HV cable systems (up to 400 kV) for onshore projects.

• Operate and manage test equipment, to perform RTS test with mobile resonant test systems (HighVolt and /or Phoenix).

• Carry out Partial Discharge (PD) measurements, with Omicron equipment.

• Ensure compliance with UK safety standards and project-specific requirements.

• Provide accurate reporting and documentation of test results.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

• Proven experience in HV cable testing and commissioning, up to 400 kV.

• Hands-on experience with resonant test systems (HighVolt  and/or Phoenix system) and PD measurement tools (Omicron system).

• BESC safety qualification (mandatory for UK work).

• Ability to work independently and as part of a commissioning team, within a team already in place.

• Strong communication and reporting skills.
