Welding Superintendent (CORSICA Site)

Role Definition

AVENTA is seeking an experienced and highly qualified Welding Superintendent for a crucial role in the EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) project of the Ricanto Bioenergy Plant in Ajaccio, Corsica.

📝 Key Responsibilities

The Welding Superintendent will report to the Site Manager and will serve as the technical focal point for all welding and Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) activities on site. Duties include:

• Welding Supervision: Directly supervising and coordinating all welding activities and associated post-weld heat treatments (PWHT), ensuring compliance with Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and project specifications.

• Qualification and Control: Managing the qualification of welders and operators according to applicable standards. Monitoring the correct execution of welded joints, verifying parameters and quality.

• NDT Management: Coordinating and monitoring subcontractors responsible for Non-Destructive Testing (Radiography, Ultrasonics, Liquid Penetrant, etc.), ensuring proper procedure application and accurate documentation.

• Documentation: Preparing and keeping updated all welding documentation (WPS, WPQR, Mapping, NDT reports, welding log books).

• Safety: Ensuring that all welding operations are performed safely and in compliance with the site’s HSE standards.

• Problem Resolution: Identifying and resolving technical issues related to welding or defects found during inspections.

✅ Mandatory Requirements (Must-Have)

To apply for this position, you must meet the following requirements:

• EPC Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in welding supervision within the EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) sector, with proven experience on piping and pressure equipment.

• Citizenship: Must hold European citizenship.

• French Language: Fluent command (spoken and written) of the French language.

• Qualifications (Preferable): A recognized international certification in Welding Inspection (e.g., IWI, CSWIP 3.1) is highly preferred.
