The French headquarters in the La Defense area houses a multidisciplinary engineering and project support team, including a dedicated Safety and Legal Compliance function responsible for ensuring full alignment of all operations with French labour law, occupational health and safety regulations, and mandatory documentation requirements

Project scope
The assignment covers regulatory compliance and mandatory occupational safety requirements within the Safety Legal Compliance department. The HSE Engineer works autonomously under managerial supervision, interfacing with other disciplines to ensure all applicable French labour legal requirements and occupational safety documentation are correctly implemented and maintained.
The scope is primarily office-based with the possibility of onshore missions - maximum 1 month, non-renewable - to site or client locations within France as required. Provide specialist HSE compliance guidance to operational and project teams on the interpretation of French legal requirements
Interface with other disciplines to ensure consistent application of HSE legal frameworks across all activities
Support the implementation of corrective and preventive actions arising from audits, inspections, or regulatory changes
Industrial environment & O&G context
Apply HSE knowledge to an industrial laboratory and engineering office environment
Support the application of Oil and Gas industry standards and offshore marine regulations where relevant to the scope
Key deliverables
Mandatory occupational safety documentation (DUERP, PPSPS, PDP) maintained accurately and in full compliance with applicable French legal requirements
French labour legal training requirements identified, tracked, and implemented across the relevant workforce
HSE compliance guidance delivered to interface disciplines in a clear and actionable format
All corrective actions arising from compliance reviews tracked and closed within agreed timescales
Required Qualification
Requirements
Degree or professional qualification in Health, Safety & Environment, occupational safety, or a related engineering discipline
Must-have:
Demonstrated experience in French labour legal compliance and mandatory occupational safety documentation: DUERP, PPSPS, PDP
Sound knowledge of French labour law training requirements applicable to industrial or engineering environments
• Familiarity with industrial environments - laboratory, engineering office, or equivalent
Certifications
Valid MFC (Medical Fitness Certificate) - mandatory

Nice-to-have:
Knowledge of Oil and Gas industry standards and offshore marine HSE regulations
Experience in a large EPCI or industrial contractor environment
Soft skills
Autonomous working style - able to manage compliance deliverables independently under managerial supervision
Rigorous and detail-oriented approach to regulatory documentation
Effective communicator across disciplines in a large corporate environment
Fluent French - mandatory (regulatory documentation and legal compliance are in French)
English - professional level - required for interface with international teams
