Aventa Adriatic d.o.o., based in Rijeka, Croatia, hosts a growing Engineering team dedicated to offshore installation methods and subsea analysis, supporting Group projects globally.

This is a Junior Subsea Analysis Engineer position within Aventa's Engineering team in Rijeka, structured to build technical expertise in subsea installation and design analysis. You will support engineering calculations, technical studies and analysis reports for international Oil & Gas and Marine Renewables projects, working closely with senior engineers and other disciplines while gradually developing the technical knowledge required to deliver safe, efficient and reliable offshore and subsea engineering solutions.

  Subsea pipeline installation and design analysis (S-Lay, Reel-lay, J-Lay methods)

•    Subsea cable installation and design analysis (cable lay, pull-in, route engineering)

•    Offshore structures, in-line structures, subsea components and marine renewables

•    Field layout, routing and crossing design

•    Engineering tools, numerical analysis and technical reporting

Role Overview

The Junior Subsea Analysis Engineer performs engineering calculations and prepares analysis reports for subsea pipeline, cable and structure installation, contributing to safe and reliable offshore engineering solutions under the guidance of senior engineers.

Reporting line: Reports to the Subsea Analysis Lead within the Engineering Department, with daily mentoring from senior subsea analysis engineers.

Key responsibilities

Engineering analysis

•    Perform engineering calculations using in-house tools and specialised commercial software

•    Prepare and update calculation notes, technical presentations and dedicated analysis reports

•    Support installation analyses for pipelines (S-Lay, Reel-lay, J-Lay), cables (lay, pull-in) and in-line structures

Design and field engineering

•    Contribute to subsea pipeline and cable basic design (mechanical sizing, on-bottom stability, free span, on-bottom roughness, expansion, crossing design)

•    Support field layout development including pipeline and cable routing

•    Contribute to naval architecture (mooring, seakeeping, vessel motion) and structural design (rigging, seafastening, subsea structures)

Project coordination

•    Coordinate with internal disciplines: methods, drafting, naval architecture, structural engineering

•    Contribute to progress review meetings by preparing technical inputs and supporting documentation

•    Be open to assignments from Aventa Group offices, client offices, vessels or project sites when required

In-house tools development

•    Assist in the development, verification and improvement of internal engineering tools and workflows

Key deliverables

•    Engineering calculation notes, analysis reports and technical presentations

•    Validated installation analyses for subsea pipelines, cables and structures

•    Field layout, routing and crossing design contributions

•    Verified in-house engineering tool improvements

Requirements

Education

•    Master's degree in Mechanical, Civil, Structural, Marine / Naval, Offshore Engineering or related discipline

Experience

Must-have:

•    Recent graduate or candidate at the beginning of engineering career

•    Basic understanding of finite element analysis and engineering calculations

•    Basic programming / scripting knowledge (Excel VBA, Python or similar)

•    Good command of Microsoft Office

Additional assets:

•    Internship, project or thesis related to offshore, subsea, naval architecture, structural or marine operations

•    Advanced finite element methods understanding and Python programming focus

•    Knowledge of specialised engineering software or numerical analysis tools

Soft Skills

•    Analytical mindset, structured problem-solving and attention to technical detail

•    Good communication and willingness to work in multidisciplinary teams

•    Languages: professional English (mandatory, spoken and written). Italian or French a plus.
