Description
Our client is a confidential major international EPCI contractor in offshore and subsea construction, whose subsea methods engineering organisation prepares the installation engineering for projects worldwide. Established project, engineering and QHSE teams support the full installation scope, from methods development through to offshore execution.
Project scope
The assignment leads the installation methods engineering within its scope for the subsea methods team. The Lead coordinates the methods engineering activities, provides technical and administrative supervision, reviews engineers' procedures and calculations against offshore requirements (client, vessel and barge specifications, constraints and site feasibility), and supports offshore execution including onboard technical support and critical operations. The role is autonomous, interfacing with project teams, offshore operations, clients and subcontractors. Onsite in the Paris area, 12 months from ASAP, with offshore missions.

Role overview
To lead the installation methods engineering for the subsea scope, supervising deliverables and engineers and ensuring methods are executed safely and as designed offshore.
Reporting line: You will report to the methods / installation engineering manager (exact reporting line to be confirmed), supervising methods engineers and interfacing with project teams, offshore operations, clients and subcontractors.
Key responsibilities
Methods engineering leadership
• Coordinate the installation methods engineering activities within your scope, providing technical and administrative supervision
• Review engineers' procedures and calculations to ensure deliverables meet offshore requirements, accounting for client, vessel and barge specifications, constraints and site feasibility
• Supervise the phases of work progress
Offshore execution and support
• Provide technical support to the installation team onboard and advise vessel management on the technical aspects of the project
• Participate in critical offshore operations to ensure execution per the methodology and capture lessons learned
• Ensure all checklists and installation documents are completed per procedures and transmitted to the QC coordinator
Interfaces
• Interface with project teams, offshore operations, clients and subcontractors
Key deliverables
• Methods engineering deliverables supervised and reviewed against offshore requirements
• Installation procedures and calculations validated for the subsea scope
• Offshore execution supported and critical operations attended
• Installation checklists and documents completed and handed to QC; lessons learned captured
Requirements
Education
Engineering degree (design office background) in a relevant discipline.
Experience
• Must-have: Lead-level experience in subsea installation methods engineering on Oil and Gas projects
• Must-have: Experience supervising methods engineers and reviewing procedures and calculations
• Must-have: Offshore experience aboard installation vessels, including critical operations and onboard support
• Nice-to-have: Experience across multiple installation methods, vessels and subsea products (pipelines, risers, structures, SURF)
Certifications
• BOSIET + CA-EBS (OPITO certified) and MFC Medical Fitness Certificate (OGUK certified) - mandatory for offshore missions
Technical skills
• Installation methods, procedures and engineering review
• Offshore installation execution and vessel interface
Soft skills
• Leadership and rigour, able to supervise and coordinate a methods team
• English - professional level, written and spoken, mandatory
