For one of our clients, a major international offshore contractor, we are looking for a Pipeline Design Specialist to join their subsea T&I team on a pipeline detailed design project.

This role offers a unique opportunity to take ownership of the pipeline design discipline, contribute directly to project delivery, and help develop pipeline engineering capability within Paris engineering team.

Depending on experience, candidates will be considered for either a Senior Pipeline Design Engineer or Lead Pipeline Design Engineer position.

Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for the engineering and coordination of offshore rigid pipeline design activities, including:

Pipeline Design & Analysis

• Develop and maintain Pipeline Basis of Design documentation.

• Perform pipeline and flowline wall thickness sizing calculations.

• Execute thermal expansion assessments and prepare associated reports.

• Conduct pipeline routing studies and optimise offshore pipeline layouts.

• Perform pipeline buckling and walking assessments (Level 1).

• Carry out on-bottom stability analyses.

• Perform free-span and spanning assessments.

• Conduct pipeline roughness and seabed interaction evaluations.

• Perform pipe-soil interaction assessments.

• Support Engineering Critical Assessment (ECA) activities.

• Develop pipeline material take-offs (MTOs).

• Prepare pipeline design summary and technical reports.

Integrity & Protection

• Perform cathodic protection design calculations.

• Conduct dropped object assessments.

• Develop pipeline protection and mitigation solutions.

• Support design optimisation to ensure compliance with project and industry requirements.

Multidisciplinary Coordination

• Interface with drafting and CAD teams during design development.

• Coordinate with structural engineers on protection structures and associated subsea systems.

• Collaborate with jumper and subsea mechanical design teams to ensure design consistency and interface management.

• Support client reviews, technical workshops and design presentations.

Lead Role Additional Responsibilities

• Manage pipeline engineering activities across the project.

• Coordinate technical execution, schedules and engineering deliverables.

• Provide technical mentoring to junior engineers.

• Contribute to the development of pipeline engineering capabilities within the Paris office.

• Act as the primary pipeline discipline focal point for the client and project management team.
