Description
Our client is a confidential major international EPCI contractor in offshore and subsea construction, whose subsea methods engineering organisation prepares the installation engineering for projects worldwide. Established project, engineering and QHSE teams support the full installation scope, from methods development through to offshore execution.
Project scope
The assignment supports the Subsea Methods Engineering team, producing the technical documentation required for the installation of offshore structures, accounting for client and vessel/barge specifications and constraints and onsite feasibility. The scope covers pipelines (J-lay and reel-lay), risers (single and multiple), spools, jumpers, subsea structures, flexibles, umbilicals, floaters (FPSO), anchoring, buoys and offloading lines. The role is autonomous, under the responsibility of a project manager and interfacing with other disciplines, with offshore missions required. Based onsite in the Paris area, 12 months from ASAP.
Required Qualification
Role overview
To produce the installation methods and engineering documentation for subsea and offshore structure installation, ensuring feasibility against vessel, barge and site constraints.
Reporting line: You will report to the project methods / installation engineering manager (exact reporting line to be confirmed), working autonomously and interfacing with the other disciplines and vessel teams.
Key responsibilities
Installation methods engineering
• Develop the installation engineering documentation for offshore structures, accounting for client, vessel and barge specifications, constraints and onsite feasibility
• Cover the full subsea scope: pipelines (J-lay and reel-lay), risers, spools, jumpers, subsea structures, flexibles, umbilicals, floaters (FPSO), anchoring, buoys and offloading lines
• Verify installation feasibility against vessel and barge capabilities and site constraints
Execution and interfaces
• Work autonomously under the project manager, interfacing with the other disciplines
• Participate in offshore missions during installation as required
Key deliverables
• Installation engineering documentation produced for the assigned subsea scope
• Installation methods defined and validated against vessel and site constraints
• Discipline interfaces maintained through to installation
• Offshore installation supported as required
Requirements
Education
Engineering degree (design office background) in a relevant discipline.
Experience
• Must-have: Confirmed experience in subsea installation methods engineering on Oil and Gas projects
• Must-have: Knowledge across the subsea scope: pipelines (J-lay/reel-lay), risers, spools, jumpers, structures, flexibles, umbilicals, floaters
• Must-have: Understanding of installation vessel/barge constraints and onsite feasibility
• Nice-to-have: Experience across multiple installation methods and vessel types
Certifications
• BOSIET + CA-EBS (OPITO certified) and MFC Medical Fitness Certificate (OGUK certified) - mandatory for offshore missions
Technical skills
• Installation methods and engineering documentation
• Offshore installation analysis and feasibility assessment
Soft skills
• Autonomous and rigorous, comfortable interfacing across disciplines
• English - professional level, written and spoken, mandatory
