Description
Our client is a confidential major international EPCI contractor in offshore and subsea construction, whose subsea engineering organisation prepares engineering for projects worldwide. Established project, engineering and QHSE teams support the full scope, from design through to offshore execution.
Project scope
The assignment supports subsea equipment engineering for tenders (bids). The engineer contributes to the preparation of technical and commercial offers for subsea projects, defines suitable technical solutions and equipment, evaluates costs, risks and schedule through supplier consultation and techno-economic optimisation, and ensures the competitiveness and compliance of proposals with client requirements. The role is autonomous, supporting bids and interfacing with the estimation, procurement, installation, structures and pipelines teams. Onsite in the Paris area, 12 months from ASAP.

Required Qualification
To engineer subsea equipment solutions for competitive tenders, balancing technical suitability, cost and compliance, in support of winning proposals.
Reporting line: You will report to the bid / tendering manager (exact reporting line to be confirmed), working autonomously and interfacing with estimation, procurement, installation, structures and pipelines.
Key responsibilities
Bid engineering
• Contribute to the preparation of technical and commercial offers for subsea projects (analysis of the ITT, technical specifications and contractual requirements)
• Define suitable technical solutions, selecting the most appropriate technologies and equipment and preparing the technical documentation
Cost, risk and competitiveness
• Evaluate costs, risks and schedule through supplier consultation and techno-economic optimisation
• Ensure the competitiveness and compliance of proposals with client requirements
Coordination
• Work in coordination with the estimation, procurement, installation, structures and pipelines teams
• Work autonomously under the bid manager, interfacing with the other disciplines
Key deliverables
• Technical and commercial bid contributions prepared for subsea projects
• Technical solutions and equipment selections defined with supporting documentation
• Cost, risk and schedule evaluations produced through supplier consultation
• Competitive, compliant proposals supported to submission
Requirements
Education
Engineering degree (design office background) in a relevant discipline.
Experience
• Must-have: Senior experience in subsea equipment engineering, ideally in tendering / bids on Oil and Gas projects
• Must-have: Ability to define subsea technical solutions and prepare technical documentation
• Must-have: Cost, risk and techno-economic evaluation with supplier consultation
• Nice-to-have: Familiarity with estimation, procurement and multi-discipline interfaces on subsea bids
Technical skills
• Subsea equipment engineering and solution definition
• Techno-economic evaluation and tender documentation
Soft skills
• Autonomous, rigorous and commercially aware, comfortable across disciplines
• English - professional level, written and spoken, mandatory
