Description

About the client

Our client is a confidential major European electricity transmission system operator (TSO), extending its offshore high-voltage grid to connect new offshore windfarms through a landmark artificial energy-island project. It plays a central role in the Belgian and European energy transition, building a sustainable, green and reliable energy infrastructure.

Project scope

The project delivers the offshore AC substations for a Belgian offshore energy grid connecting new windfarms. The scope includes an artificial energy island with offshore transmission infrastructure, multiple AC substations (66 kV and 220 kV) and 220 kV AC export cable systems. The AC substation modules and a facility module (about 1050 MW) are being constructed at yards in Vlissingen and Schiedam, with outfitting works starting in summer 2026. The Site Engineer works across both yards and the Brussels office, supporting the Construction lead.
