About the job

For one of our clients, a major international EPCI contractor, we are looking for a Survey Engineer (Survey Technician) to support installation, testing, operation and maintenance of survey and positioning equipment on an offshore wind project, including RTK GNSS systems and large structure monitoring equipment.

What we offer

A long-term assignment within a major international EPCI contractor's survey team on an offshore wind installation project, based in the Paris area (Puteaux or Montigny-le-Bretonneux), with offshore missions on a rotational basis.

Description

What you will do

  • Install, test, operate and maintain survey and positioning equipment, including RTK GNSS systems and large structure monitoring equipment

  • Plan surveying IT systems and networks for installation, and carry out or supervise installation activities

  • Plan, execute and maintain all survey and positioning equipment

  • Diagnose faults and carry out repairs on survey and positioning equipment as needed

  • Test systems and prepare them for shipment to vessels

  • Liaise with ship's crew on deck operations and equipment installation

  • Liaise with third parties to ensure all documentation and permits are obtained

  • Mobilize and demobilize Survey and Positioning systems on board vessels

  • Adapt Survey and Positioning systems to best meet survey operation requirements

  • Ensure safe installation of Survey and Positioning systems and cabling

  • Perform QC, analysis and interpretation of survey system data

  • Maintain equipment calibration documentation

  • Maintain a log of equipment failures and software bugs, and issue NCRs to QHSE

  • Maintain an accurate inventory of Survey and Positioning equipment, spares and consumables

  • Ensure consumables are kept at appropriate levels

  • Maintain clear and accurate online survey logs, and produce the operational survey log for daily reporting

  • Participate in land surveys using total station and GNSS

  • Perform QC of positioning and data acquisition systems

  • Take seawater parameter observations to determine sound velocity

  • Provide technical support to Project Surveyors

  • Liaise with third-party suppliers of DGNSS signals, Survey and Positioning systems and survey software

Required Qualification

What you bring

  • Surveying/topography background with offshore experience

  • Proficiency with SC4W software

  • Fluent English, written and spoken

  • BOSIET (OPITO) + CAEBS, GWO certification, valid Medical Fitness Certificate
