Description
About the client
Our client is a confidential leading international EPCI contractor with a long-standing track record in deepwater oil and gas, offshore renewables and complex marine infrastructure. The Paris-region engineering centres in Montigny-le-Bretonneux and Puteaux host multidisciplinary subsea engineering teams supporting flagship deepwater rigid pipeline studies across the client's project portfolio.
Project scope
The assignment is a 12-month multiproject services contract supporting the client's subsea engineering team on rigid pipeline design studies across undisclosed deepwater target projects. The Technical Lead provides senior-level engineering leadership on rigid subsea pipeline design in deepwater, covering routing, spool and jumper design, walking and buckling analyses, with responsibility for deliverables coordination across the discipline and compliance with international design standards and project specifications.
The role is based in the Paris region (Montigny-le-Bretonneux or Puteaux) with no missions foreseen for the duration of the assignment. A conditional mission clause applies if site activity is later required (onshore 1 month maximum non-renewable, offshore 2 months maximum non-renewable), with visa and work permit at consultant charge and responsibility.
Required Qualification
Role overview
To provide technical leadership on rigid subsea pipeline design for the client's deepwater target projects - covering routing, spool and jumper design, walking and buckling analyses - working autonomously under managerial supervision and coordinating multidisciplinary engineering inputs to ensure deliverables compliance with international design standards and project specifications.
Reporting line: You will work autonomously under managerial supervision and interface with naval architecture, installation methods, structural engineering and other relevant disciplines across the client's subsea engineering organisation.

• Drive routing studies, spool and jumper design, and pipeline alignment with project specifications
• Provide technical guidance and design review to engineers within the discipline
Advanced engineering analyses
• Direct walking and buckling analyses for rigid pipelines in deepwater conditions
• Validate engineering calculations, technical notes and analysis reports against international design standards
• Anticipate and resolve technical challenges arising from deepwater rigid pipeline design constraints
Deliverables coordination
• Coordinate engineering deliverables across the subsea pipeline discipline and ensure alignment with project schedules
• Verify compliance of design outputs with applicable codes, project standards and client specifications
Multidisciplinary interface
• Interface with naval architecture, installation methods, structural engineering and other relevant disciplines
• Communicate technical positions and design rationale to project management and client stakeholders
Key deliverables
• Rigid subsea pipeline design package (routing, spool and jumper design) delivered in line with project schedule and applicable standards
• Walking and buckling analyses completed and validated against international codes
• Engineering deliverables reviewed, coordinated and signed off across the discipline within agreed timescales
• Technical compliance with project standards demonstrated and documented throughout the assignment
