Offshore wind project in France : :

The project consists of installation of n°2 HVAC export cables from Bernières-sur-Mer (Calvados, France), of about 15 km each, to the offshore 450 MW substation platform. Maximum water depth along cables route is approx. 25m.

Role Definition

We are looking to hire 2 Cable landfall site manager in order to following those activities: 

  • Geophysical/geotechnical survey
  • Landfall civil works (site preparation, demolition existing structures and facilities, TJP and earthing pits construction)
  • Sheet piles assembling and installation
  • Onshore trenches excavation and backfilling (elevated excavator)
  • HDPE duct pipes assembling by fusion welding, pipe installation inside the trench, pigging, bellmouth installation by divers
  • Marine trench excavation and backfilling (DP/moored barge)
  • Installation of the onshore pulling spread (pulling winch + HPU, holdback system, rollerway)
  • Cable landing pull-in assistance
  • Reinstatement works (sea access ramp, seawall, car parking, etc.)
  • Engineering for all the above activities (survey, landfall civil works, trench design, duct assembling and installation, backfilling, reinstatement works)
  • Procurement of all necessary materials/equipment/accessories required to execute the Works

Overall Purpose Of Role

Reporting to the Project Director/Project Manager , the resource will:

  • Supervise the Subcontractor activities at site
  • Monitor the progress of the Subcontractor’s Works against the baseline schedule and ensure compliance with Project specifications
  • Guarantee that Subcontractor performs and closes the actions as agreed during the Projects meeting, keeping the Action Tracker updated
  • Effectively managing relationships with Client Representative and Subcontractor site manager and local stakeholders (the latter if present onsite during works execution)
  • Reporting to the PD/PM any issue raised by local stakeholder
  • Attendance to the meeting with Client and authorities (i.e. CNL, PREMAR, DDTM, city hall), as necessary and required by PD/PM
  • Being able to identify in advance any risk which could impact on the Project schedule, promptly reporting them to the PD/PM
  • Participate to the daily meeting with Client and Subcontractor at site and prepare/review the MOM as necessary
  • Prepare daily reports/look ahead to be delivered to the PD/PM
  • Closely working with PM/Consent Manager in order to make sure that the required permits/authorization are in place prior to start any relevant activities
  • If necessary, supervise trenching/backfilling operations moving onboard of the marine spread vessel

Qualification

  • Master Degree in Civil/Mechanical Engineering
  • +5 year experience as Installation Project Engineer/Construction Manager within an O&G EPC Contractor and/or Civil Contractor
  • Minimum of 3 years working experience at site, supervising construction works like trenching, backfilling, sheet pile installation, onshore worksite layout organization
  • Microsoft Windows, Office Package (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • MS Project and AutoCAD

Conditions

  • He/she will permanently move to the worksite as soon as the Subcontractor mobilizes (working on daily shift, minimum 8 hours)
  • For specific activities, e.g. cables landing, and as required depending on the Project needs, the resource will work over the weekend minimum 8 hours
  • The resource will participate to the meeting in Client office in Paris, as required by PD/PM
  • Contract minimum duration: 9 months starting ASAP
  • B2B required during holiday period (to be better clarified based on the Contract typology)
