The project consists of design, manufacturing and installation of a HVDC power cable connecting UK and Denmark. Total length is 690km of which 620km of submarine cables and 70km of land cable installed in UK from landfall to converter station located at Bicker Fen near Boston

Role Definition

UK onshore going activities

• Cable drum loading on UK Civil Contractor truck at the Port of Boston (storage area of all the cable drums)

• Land cable installation by UK Civil Contractor

• Cable installation supervision and sheath tests

• Joint bay preparatory works

• Cable jointing activities

• Termination jointing activities at Converter Station in UK located at Bicker Fen nr Boston

• Landfall civil works (site preparation, trenching works, preparation of the TJB and earthing pits construction)

• Onshore trenches excavation and backfilling

• At landfall, HDPE duct installation, pigging, offshore bellmouth installation by divers

• Site reinstatement works

Overall Purpose of Role

Reporting to the Project Director (PD) based in Milan HQ and UK Onshore Project Manager (PM) based in UK Lincoln area, the resource will:

• Supervise the Subcontractor activities at site which are placed in different areas all along the cable route of approximately 70km from UK landfall to the Converter station

• Requested flexibility in moving during the day from one site to the other

• Reporting to the PD/PM any significant issues raised by local stakeholders

• Attendance of meetings with Client and other stakeholders as required and deemed necessary by PD/PM

• Being able to identify in advance any risk which could impact on the Project schedule, promptly reporting them to the PD/PM

• Chair daily coordination meetings with Client, Subcontractor, and stakeholders at site preparing minutes of such meeting as necessary

• Prepare daily/weekly reports, lookahead programmes.

• Ensure operational efficiency and business improvement.

• Ensure project delivery in line with scope, HSE standard, installation procedures, quality control plans and agreed programmes

• Collaborate with subcontractors and internal resource to allocate resource to meet the programme.

• Work with the Senior Planner to forward plan resource requirements and assist with the preparation of project reports

• Attend project sites to oversee and ensure good, safe working practice

Qualification

• Degree in Civil/Mechanical Engineering

• +10 year experience as Site Manager/Onshore Construction Manager in UK within an O&G EPC Contractor and/or Civil Contractor

• Minimum of 5 years working experience at site, supervising construction works like trenching, backfilling, HDD execution, sheet pile installation, cable pulling, onshore worksite layout organization

• Microsoft Windows, Office Package (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

• MS Project and AutoCAD

Conditions

• Contract minimum duration: 6 months starting ASAP

• Working on daily shift from Monday to Saturday (minimum 8 hours)

• For specific activities, e.g. cables landing, testing and as required depending on the Project needs, the resource will work over the weekend minimum 8 hours

• The resource will be required to participate in meetings in Milan or UK Client offices as deemed necessary by PD/PM
