Role Definition

We are looking FOCS Design/Product Engineer Optical Fiber for one of our clients 

Areas of responsibility

• Ensure that FOCS design is compliant with the contract requirements, the applicable codes, regulations and standards and internal guidelines/good practises

• Draft/issue engineering deliverables and review/comment/approve engineering deliverables issued by Nexans engineering team and subcontractors/suppliers (ASN, civil work & installation subcontractors and components (e.g. DTS) & accessories suppliers)

• Ensure Client and other stakeholder requests and comments to documentation are properly addressed

• Ensure that the engineering process is done in accordance with the Project Execution Model

• Responsible for internal interfaces with other engineering disciplines (power cable design, installation, civil work design) and external interfaces with Client other contractor (Siemens Energy for the converter stations)

• Closely follow up engineering progress against Project Schedule and manhour budget and report any negative trend

• Identify and mitigate risks and opportunities

• Facilitate/attend engineering and management meetings and report Engineering status/progress to to FOCS Package Project Manager.

• Ensure effective use of the engineering resources

Qualification

• University degree BSc, MSc or similar

• Senior Lead Engineer with strong knowledge and experience in telecommunication technology and good understanding and ability to work with other engineering disciplines such as installation and electrical system design.

• Leadership qualities: Proactive, Determined, Accountable, Good communication and co-operation skills

• Good general knowledge in project engineering systems and tools

• Fluent in English – oral and written
