Role Definition

As a core member of Aventa Engineering team, the Methods Engineer will work on a diverse range of subsea pipeline installation and design analyses scopes for our clients. Main clients are international and state-owned EPCI contractors and E&P companies in the Oil & Gas industry.


Our scope of services for Offshore Installation Methods Engineering is:

– Review of Client documentation and relevant contracts

– Definition of installation methods based on the installation spread:

• Installation and contingency procedures

• Definition of installation aids

• Definition and verification of rigging in line with required standards

• Liaison with other departments to align with the installation methods (i.e. installation analysis, naval, structural, pre-commissioning)

– Definition of technical requirements for subcontractors and relevant follow up

– Covering following main fields:

• Conventional Offshore (rigid pipelines, offshore jackets and topsides)

• Subsea Installations (subsea structures, flexible, umbilicals, spools, jumpers etc…)

• Renewables energy sector (installation methods, route engineering, etc…)

• Pre-installation phase: route definition, survey, PLGR, subcontractors, protection installation

• Project engineering management

 Manage, supervise project process/engineering activities according to contract requirements and project objectives.

 Optimization of technical and work processes

 Liaison with Clients and Subcontractors


Responsibilities:

Offshore Methods Engineer will take responsibility for engineering tasks and perform associated calculations:

• Identify technical problems and make required technical decisions within the contract limitations

• Develop and prepare detailed procedures / manuals for the task implementing outcomes from relevant analysis which is performed by others

• Liaise with drafting team in preparation of installation methodology storyboards

• Perform engineering verifications and calculations necessary for the methodology to be implemented

• Undertake assignments in other Aventa Group offices, clients’ offices, vessels or on-site

• Monitor and reporting on the progress of engineering deliverables

• Liaise with Clients and participating in the meetings

Skills and Experience:

Ideally, we are looking for an Offshore Methods Engineer who has experience working on offshore oil and gas projects. We would also like to hear from candidates who have worked on subsea cables engineering projects.

Candidates from closely related industry sectors and recent graduates of master’s level degree (Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Maritime Engineering/Naval Architecture or a related discipline) are welcome to apply for the position as well.

Mandatory requirements:

• Junior Offshore Methods Engineer: previous direct experience in offshore O&G and Renewables industry is not required.

• Expert Offshore Methods Engineer: 3-5 years of direct experience in offshore O&G and Renewables industry is required.

• Good communication skills. Professional level of writing and speaking in English.

• A good team player. Self-motivated with a drive for results, improvement and innovation.

• AutoCAD knowledge

• MS Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook).

Other valuable skills and experience:

• Preferably gained experience in O&G and/or Renewables industry.

• Competent in use of relevant industry standards and specialized software (GIS etc.)

• Fluency in other language (Italian, French, etc.).
