Role Definition

As a core member of Aventa Engineering team, the Subsea Pipelines Analysis Engineer will work on a diverse range of subsea pipeline installation and design analyses scopes for our clients. Main clients are international and state-owned EPCI contractors and E&P companies in the Oil & Gas industry.

Our scope of services for subsea pipeline analysis is:

• Undertake and collaborate design and installation analysis and calculations of various Oil & Gas projects.

• Subsea pipeline installation analysis for S-Lay, Reel-lay and J-Lay methods.

• Installation analyses of in-line structures.

• Subsea pipeline installation advanced analyses.

• Field layout development (pipeline routing).

• Subsea pipelines basic design (mechanical sizing, on-bottom stability, free span analysis, on-bottom roughness, expansion, crossings design).

• Subsea pipelines advanced design.

• Development and validation of in-house tools.

Responsibilities:

Subsea pipelines analysis engineer will take responsibility for engineering tasks and perform associated calculations:

• Pipeline installation and design based on project requirements and client’s specifications and international oil & gas standards.

• Perform design and installation calculations utilizing the in-house tools and specialized commercial software.

• Write and check calculation notes.

• Prepare presentations for analysis progress review meetings and write dedicated analysis reports.

• Undertake assignments in other Aventa Group offices, clients’ offices, vessels or on-site.


Skills and Experience:

Ideally, we are looking for a Subsea Pipeline Analysis Engineer who has experience working on subsea pipeline projects performing installation and/or design calculations. We would also like to hear from candidates who have worked on subsea cables engineering projects.

Candidates from closely related industry sectors and recent graduates of master’s level degree (Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Maritime Engineering/Naval Architecture or a related discipline) are welcome to apply for the position as well.

Mandatory requirements:

• Junior Subsea Pipelines Analysis Engineer: previous direct experience in offshore O&G and Renewables industry is not required.

• Expert Subsea Pipelines Analysis Engineer: 3-5 years of direct experience in offshore O&G and Renewables industry is required.

• Basic understanding of FE analysis.

• Basic skills of programming and scripting languages (Excel VBA, Python, etc.).

• Good communication skills. Professional level of writing and speaking in English.

• A good team player. Self-motivated with a drive for results, improvement and innovation.

• MS Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook).

Other valuable skills and experience:

• Preferably gained experience in O&G and/or Renewables industry.

• Competent in use of relevant industry standards and specialized software (Orcaflex, Abaqus, etc.)

• Specialist knowledge in FE analysis.

• Fluency in other language (Italian, French, etc.).
